Wrap me up before you go go!/L’accessoire indispensable de mi-saison!

🇬🇧 It’s been chilly and then warmer and then chilly and then sunny and then rainy for the last few weeks in London, I’m really struggling to know what to wear each morning. The only way I get to deal with all those changes in temperature – me the ‘always feeling cold’ lady – is by having a large and soft scarf to wrap myself into.

🇬🇧 I have tried and tested a wonderful, wonderful pasta recipe for you and it would be selfish not to share it with you. It’s the pumpkin, butternut squash season and it’s time to make the most of those delightful veg to create a beautiful pasta dish. All right, the time given on the recipe says 20mn, I would say it’s probably a bit longer, probably more around 30mn but it’s worth it if you are cooking it for a lovely friend, partner, husband. It’s definitely not the kind of dish I would cook just for the kids, they just would not appreciate the work that goes behind let alone the wonderful flavours.

A glorious late summer day at Hughenden Manor/Une superbe journée de fin d’été au Manoir de Hughenden

🇬🇧 We were in the UK for the last bank holiday of the summer and just decided to really make the most of it. Living in a 2 bedroom flat as a family of 5 has got at least one good thing: it encourages us to be out and explore as often as we can. We decided to head out for the day and have a pic-nic at the beautiful Hughenden Manor.

🇬🇧 There is one thing (among others;-) I will never give up trying: for my kids to eat veg. This applies to l’Homme and I of course. In France where I am from food is such a big part of our culture and it’s a country which has such a variety of climates that it is easy to find fresh fruits and veg.

But sometimes when the  fresh food is running low in the fridge and the grocery shop is only due the following day it is always good to have a couple of tins of sweetcorn in the pantry!

A fantastic day enjoying London Open House

Last weekend was the London Open House 2016 edition. This is a super exciting event in the capital where you get a chance to access buildings that are not generally opened to the public. The list of venues is incredible and somehow sometimes a bit overwhelming but worth spending a bit of time reviewing it.

A fun family day in Alice Holt forest/Superbe journée dans la forest d’Alice’s Holt

Last bank holiday in the UK (End of August), back from our holiday in France but still willing to be as much outdoor as possible, I planned a fun day out in a forrest just 1h away from London. My fellow mum and friend Claire had mentioned to me this forest called Alice Holt and we had not had a chance to visit it earlier. Our bank holiday was calling for us to be out and explore.  Let me tell you all about Alice Holt!

A charming Normand stop over in Honfleur/ Pause de charme normande à Honfleur

🇬🇧 This year we decided to travel back and forth from London (UK) to Brittany (West of France) where we spend our summer holiday by car with a crossing with Eurotunnel (as opposed to taking the ferry or a flight). Since the journey is pretty darn long to get to Brittany (it’s about 7h from Calais without stop!) we decided to stop overnight in Rouen on the way down but for the journey back home we opted to stop by in the charming port of Honfleur. When we lived in Northern France with my folks we used to drive through Honfleur, get a bite there and get back in the car fairly quickly afterwards. This time l’Homme and I decided to stop over and do a little explore. It was well worth a visit I’m telling you!
